Born out of the struggles faced by so many Brooklynites during the COVID-19 pandemic, 1:1 Foods is a social enterprise designed to rethink the meal kit. Local chefs and restaurants partner with 1:1, creating original meal kits that showcase their signature dishes and give the customer the opportunity to craft restaurant quality food at home. For every meal kit purchased, one is donated to a Brooklyn family in need. 1:1 Foods aims to combat the hunger epidemic faced here in New York City while providing direct support to small food businesses that are on the verge of forced closure due to rising rent and labor costs, fierce competition from corporate chains and the myriad of new hurdles faced during the global pandemic.
